From powerful surges of fury, to waves gently lapping at the shoreline, the ocean is both dark and mysterious, as well as bright and magnificent. This painting uses a mixed media on canvas technique to capture the intriguing ocean waters that lie just beneath the surface. The light turquoise blues swirled with deep cobalt and navy blues create an ethereal color palette, while the dazzling brilliance of the sun’s light is flawlessly captured with golden luster.
 
Why I created this painting
 
The world of ocean has always felt mysterious and full of quiet wonder for me.When we lived  in New Zealand, there was a snorkeling beach near our home where the water revealed an incredible world beneath the surface. The area was rich with marine life. Even during low tide, the shoreline was alive with hundreds of small sea creatures- colorful starfish, shells, and delicate marine forms scattered across the rocks and shallow pools.
World of Ocean was created from that experience, capturing the sense of mystery, movement and hidden beauty that lives within the oceans depths.
