Why I made this painting
 
This painting reflects the quiet, unexpected beauty of autumn colors - soft yellows, warm oranges, and earthy tones blending together like leaves drifting through the seasons. The inspiration came during a visit to downtown Chicago in autumn. Surrounded by a maze of tall buildings and busy city streets, I found myself missing the vast autumn landscapes of Minnesota. Yet even in the middle of the city, small glimpses of trees appeared between the buildings, their leaves glowing with colors of the season.
That moment reminded me that beauty in nature is always present - even among man-made structures - if we pause long enough to notice it.
