There is simply no other seasonal experience quite like autumn’s resplendent evolution, as lush green leaves turn into an otherworldly color palette before our eyes. This abstract painting uses intense alcohol inks on canvas to capture the compelling transformational beauty of autumn, with its dazzling depth of magnificent hues. Reminiscent of leaves swirling in the gentle breeze, and crisp fallen leaves underfoot, this painting is a true celebration of autumnal magnificence.
 
Why I created this painting
 
Autumn in Minnesota is a season of extraordinary beauty. The forests and trails transform into a tapestry of rich colors - golden yellows, fiery oranges, deep burgundies, and vibrant reds. 
Near our home there is a beautiful trail where I often go for walks during peak autumn. I love collecting leaves along the path, admiring the incredible variety of colors nature offers. On one particular walk, the landscape felt especially magical. The yellow leaves dominated the scene, glowing in the late afternoon light as dusk approached , turning everything around me warm and golden.
This painting was inspired by that peaceful walk, capturing the rich autumn colors and the golden light that filled the air.
