Why I created this painting:
 
This painting was inspired by a documentary about White Island eruption  in New Zealand,  a powerful volcanic landscape that has fascinated me for years. When we lived in New Zealand, I always hoped to visit it one day, drawn by its raw beauty and the incredible forces beneath the earth's surface.
 
The work also stands as a quiet tribute for those who lost their lives in 2019 Whakaari eruption. While nature can be breathtaking and powerful, it also reminds us of its fragility and unpredictability.
This painting honors their memory and reflects both the beauty and the profound respect we must hold for the forces of our planet.
