Why I created this painting
 
This painting captures the dramatic contrast between heat and coolness, movement and stillness. The inspiration came from watching footage of volcanic eruptions in Hawaii. I was mesmerized by the intense beauty of molten lava- fiery red and orange- flowing down the cliff and meeting the calm deep turquoise waters of the ocean. In that moment, Fire and Water seem to collide, yet coexist in a powerful and magical way. This painting reflects the unforgettable image of nature's raw energy, where molten fire meets the cool embrace of the sea.
