Why I created this painting
 
This inspiration comes from Gisborne, New Zealand, where we once lived near a beautiful beach. The sand there was incredibly soft - like white talcum powder beneath your feet- and the ocean was crystal clear, shimmering turquoise under the sunlight. One afternoon while sitting in my living room and sipping coffee, I watched the sunlight dance on the calm waters. The turquoise water shimmered quietly in the distance, creating a moment of deep peace. This painting was inspired by that serene memory.
